The Company enjoys constant support from its parent company on the strategic and operational fronts, as Mr. Sawiris, Mr. Bichara Dr. Tooma, and Mr. Hanafi, ODH’s Chairman, CEO, CFO and Legal Counsel respectively, sit on the board of OHD, in addition to Abdelhamid Abouyoussef, ODH Chief Hotel Officer who is responsible for all the hotel portfolio of the Group including OHD.
Born in Egypt, Dr. Abdel Razek, has been the advisor to the chairman of Orascom Development since September 2013 on several projects. For more than 20 years she has served in the Egyptian governmental sector, amongst others as Deputy Minister of Finance and Head of the Budgeting Committee from 2004 to 2013, and as Deputy Minister of Trade from 2003 to 2004 and advisor to the Minister of Economy from 1997 to 2001. Furthermore, she has been appointed by presidential decree as member of the Shura Consultative Council (upper house of the Egyptian parliament) from 2004 to 2011 whereby she has been instrumental in most of the economic reforms by being a member in the Economic and Financial affairs committee in the council. Dr. Abdel Razek has also been appointed chairman of e-finance, the Egyptian market leader in the field of electronic payment solutions, and has served on the board of companies with interests in banking, aviation, tourism, transport and telecommunication. Dr. Abdel Razek holds a B.Sc. in Mass Communication with honors from Cairo University and an MA in Public Administration from the American University in Cairo where she was awarded the Frank Wisner Award for her outstanding thesis. In 2008, she received a PhD in Public Administration, with highest honors, from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University.
Mr. Bichara currently holds the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Orascom Development Holding. He is also a Co-Founder of Accelero Capital. He previously served as Group President and Chief Operating Officer of VimpelCom Ltd (“VimpelCom”). He was also Chief Executive Officer of Orascom Telecom Holding S.A.E. (“OTH”) as well as Chief Operating Officer of Wind Telecomunicazioni S.p.A. (“Wind Italy”). He played a pivotal role in the merger of VimpelCom with Wind Telecom S.p.A, (“Wind Telecom”) for a total consideration of USD 25.7Bn to create the world’s sixth largest telecommunications carrier. Mr. Bichara managed ten operations across the globe through OTH and Wind Italy and 22 operations across the globe through VimpelCom. He was the Co-founder, Chairman and CEO of “LINKdotNET”. In 2011, Mr. Bichara also served as Group Executive Chairman of OTH as well as Chairman of Wind Italy. Mr. Bichara currently serves as a board member of various telecom and IT companies, including Orascom Telecom Media and Technology Holding S.A.E.; SUPERNAP International S.A., the developer of the world-renowned SUPERNAP data centers; and Joyent Inc., a global provider of cloud computing software and services. He is the chairman of the board of Italiaonline S.p.A., the leading Italian Internet Platform and the #1 email service in Italy; as well as the chairman of the board of SEAT Pagine Gialle S.p.A., the Italian leader in internet services for SMEs (website, directories, and local adv). He is also a board member of Orascom Construction Limited, a company dually listed on NASDAQ Dubai and the Egyptian Stock Exchange. Mr. Bichara is also a member of the Advisory Board for the Computer Science and Engineering Department of the American University in Cairo. He was previously a member of the GSMA board. Mr. Bichara holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the American University in Cairo.
After receiving his Diploma in economic engineering from the Technical University of Berlin in 1980, Mr. Sawiris founded his first company, National Marine Boat Factory. In 1996 he established Orascom Projects for Touristic Development and in 1997 Orascom Hotel Holdings, the two companies that later merged to form Orascom Hotels & Development S.A.E. (OHD). He has served as CEO and chairman of OHD since its incorporation. Furthermore, Mr. Sawiris established El Gouna Beverages Co. in 1997, which he sold in 2001 when it was the largest beverage company in Egypt. He also serves as chairman or as a member of the board of a number of Orascom Development subsidiary companies.

His most recent project in London, Lloyds Chambers, where he has partnered with former Treasury Secretary John Snow, Fosun and Aviva is another example of his ability to see value and act on it to secure outsized returns.
Mr. Ryan is based, through his company Silverfin Development in Grand Cayman, and has been involved in projects from Canada to Costa Rica, London to Vietnam. He is prominently known in Cayman for his charity work having, for the past ten years, been the main benefactor of the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre, raising funds for this charity through the now famous annual Legends Tennis Charity Event. He was Chairman of the Cayman Islands National Investment Council, and has been on the boards of the Private Finance Initiative Oversight Committee, the Cayman Islands Investment Council and the Planning Review Committee.
He currently holds the position of Regional Managing Director of Abercrombie & Kent for Egypt and the Middle East. Abercrombie & Kent has been a worldwide leader in luxury travel since its establishment in 1962. Abercrombie & Kent Egypt is a full-service travel agency and ground operator with extensive experience in leisure, cruise, conferences, events, and educational travel. Mr. Badr also oversees A&K’s operations in Morocco, Jordan, and Libya. In 2013, Amr Badr has been appointed to be a Board member on the Egypt – U.S. Business council. In 2013, Mr. Badr was appointed to serve on the Board of the Egyptian National Tourism Association. Mr. Badr also serves as International advisor for the Future University in Egypt as well as the Board of Directors of Tomorrow’s Youth International Organization based in Washington. He is also an active member of the Egypt Chapter of the Partners of New Beginning based in Washington. Mr. Badr also serves as an advisor to the Chairman and CEO of Carbon Holding International, the largest fertilizer and petrochemical company in the region. As a longtime advocate for peace and increased international understanding, Mr. Badr also serves on the Board of Directors of Seeds of Peace, an organization dedicated to empowering young leaders from regions of conflict with the leadership skills required to advance reconciliation and coexistence. Badr also serves on the Board of Directors of People to People International and serves on the Advisory Board of the United States Center for Citizen Diplomacy. Badr also sits on the Board of Directors of Tomorrow’s Youth Organization and is a member of the Egypt Chapter of Partners for a New Beginning. He is also a member of the Cairo Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), Mr. Badr served on its Board of Directors for 3 consecutive years and remains an active member. YPO is an active international organization that aims to broaden interaction and networking between its members. In addition to the above, Amr Badr has also served on the Boards of the Cairo International Film Festival, and Operation Smile Egypt. In the Tourism sector, Mr. Badr chaired the Tourism Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt for 3 consecutive years and also served on the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Travel Agent’s Association. He also served on the Human Traffic initiatives. Badr is frequently featured in the press. He has given hundreds of interviews with regional and international media including the News Hour Program with Jim Lehrer, CBS 60 Minutes, CNN, FOX News, the BBC, Al Jazeera, The Washington Post, and The New York Times. He has also given lectures at The National Geographic Society in Washington D.C., The Metropolitan Museum in New York City, The Royal Geographic Institute, The Royal Institute of International Affairs in London, The National Press Club in Washington, D.C., and the Jordan River Foundation.
